Comic Sans: Episode 4 - Money Wars

Logan wants a new computer, which would prevent MJ from buying the writing desk that she really needs. Force meets force. Money is tight: MJ is a 1st generation Haitian-American whose money problems have followed her since college; raised by a single mother, Logan had to quit college to get a job, and he’s been a struggling artist ever since. In the end, counseled by Jay, a friend and financial advisor, they compromise. Both MJ and Logan will have to give up things they love: MJ will postpone adopting a chinchilla; Logan will get fewer tattoos. Both agree that they will have to eat out less and do more cooking from home. Jay also offers other money-saving tips, and advises the couple to stop collecting comics and figurines because they aren’t usually lucrative. That advice is unpopular with both of them.

Bonus Episode 3!

Aurora Dominguez from Geek Girl Brunch plays video games with MJ. Aurora tells MJ about Geek Girl Brunch. They discuss the difference between being a geek and being a nerd, and what makes a geek girl. They talk about their favorite comic book characters including Captain Marvel, Harley Quinn and Batman. They discuss favorite places to go in South Florida for geek culture including Books & Books in Coral Gables, Tate’s Comic Book Store, the Miami Book Fair in November, Super Con in Miami Beach, and Mega Con in Orlando, where both women spent way too much money.
